Virtual Assembly
Designed to replicate what we do at the start of every week in school, our virtual assembly features a special guest interview every week with a key message for our students, staff and parents.
This week Alec Drew is our guest expert telling us about the unintended consequences of spending more of our time online – a hot topic at the moment! As we welcome back some of our Year 6 pupils as well as more Key Worker’s children, our very own Terry Dactyl reminisces about his own school back in the day.
After School Clubs & Competitions
To bring a distraction to the pupils’ week we run a selection of after school activities and competitions. These provide a different focus and experience whilst at home, as well as some fun.
Our Art Studio‘s third edition of Art Leaders’ Lockdown Club Creative is out!

and Mr Thomas’ Latin Club and Frau Trotter’s Duolingo German Competition also continue.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
Rest assured, Fyling Hall is here to support you and our students as much as possible during this difficult time. Your mental health and wellbeing are our priority. Remember, you can contact Mrs English at any time for support. We also continue to share resources which you and your families may find useful.
Families Magazine has produced a freely available digital issue, full of useful ideas and advice for families on lockdown during April/May. It includes free printables; a selection of home learning resources, SEN resources, recommended podcasts, a suggested lockdown timetable the best virtual zoo and aquarium tours, and more!
Keeping Active
Have you tried any of Mr Coates’ PE with a Difference challenges? A new one is coming soon!
In addition, take a look at last week’s Keeping Active suggestions. As in previous weeks we provide an activity for each day as well as advice on how to warm up and cool down properly.
