Drilling in such a harsh, cold environment

Posted · Add Comment
Today year 10 Geography pupils discussed the Trans-Alaskan pipeline and the problems caused by drilling in such a harsh, cold environment. One task involved them in sorting through problems and matching them with the appropriate solution. For example, they had to consider how caribou migration routes might not be interfered with. The solution? Pipelines on stilts of course, so that the caribou can move freely underneath!
