Exploring 3D Materials

Fyling Hall’s lower school ( years 5, 6 and 7s) have all been exploring 3D materials this term in their Art lessons. The sculptures have been inspired by Jon Burgerman’s art for Y5 and Antony Gormley’s ‘Angel of the North‘ for Y7 (interesting fact – Mr Todd and Ms Mansfield met working on the actual Angel of the North)The finished outcomes, made from wicker, will hopefully be displayed in the school grounds.

GCSEs are fast approaching for our current Y11 pupils.  In the Art Studio, they are already working on their final project. This is a 7 week project that will counts as 40% of their GCSE. We are now 4weeks in, and time is flying!!  The outcome of this component is a 10 hour controlled exam, taking place on 1st and 2nd April.
