On Wednesday 19th November, 19 Pupils from years 3 to 6 took part in a school games cross country event held at Lady Lumley’s school, Pickering.

A total of 350 pupils participated in the afternoon’s races. Pupils in years 3 and 4 ran a distance of 1000 metres and pupils from years 5 and 6 covered approximately 1500 metres. The course was particularly muddy towards the end of the afternoon due to the deluge of rain that preceded the event moments beforehand. However, all competitors ran extremely well.

There were some ‘standout’ performances from three Fyling Hall pupils. In a race involving around 60 competitors, Tomas Richardson (yr 4) finished 8th, Connie Bradwell-Moore (yr 5) finished 5th and Luca Park (yr 4) finished in 1st place!

Luca, Connie and Tomas will now compete at the level 3 Yorkshire games in the spring term. Well done to all the runners.
