Father Jon Buffington gave a special and in-depth talk today to Fyling Hall’s lucky sixth form art students on Icons.
The American, who is a highly sort after icon painter himself, showed slides of Byzantine masterpieces and gave a demonstration on the techniques that were used by the original artists. Pupils were amazed to discover that most of these techniques are still used today.
