Whitby artist, John Freeman, has painted
this beautiful watercolour of Main House and the garden,
a view familiar to Fyling Hall pupils of every generation.
John established himself as one of the area’s
leading artists after moving to Whitby in 1969, and
interesting and important local buildings have always
featured strongly in his works. This study, using pen
and watercolour washes, captures the character of the
handsome Georgian manor house into which Mab Bradley
moved her little band of pupils in 1934.
There are 500 limited edition signed prints
available for purchase at a cost of £30
plus postage (£2.00 UK, or £6.00
overseas). Supplied unframed, the prints measure 13”
x 10½”, and will be sent in a cardboard
tube.
If you would like to purchase one, please send your
name, address details and a cheque made payable to ‘Fyling
Hall School PTA’ to the Headmaster.
